2019 Spring Greetings
“Now, the God of Hope fill you with all Joy” Romans 15:13
Spring is the season for Hope and Joy. We shed the gloom of Winter for a season that comes alive with color and reawakens our senses. Time to celebrate the joyful return of life! Time to celebrate the risen Christ! For a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, this may be a season of increased anxiety and distress. Rather than focusing on the precious life growing inside her, she may be fearful of what others may think or say and how she will possibly care for a baby. This mom may also feel it is “not the right time” for a baby; as she wants to finish school or focus on her career. At Milwaukee Birthright, we believe children are a wonderful gift from a most gracious God. From the moment of conception, God has planned for this child. Our DNA is sparked by the Divine.
Since 1971, Milwaukee Birthright has been helping women navigate their way through a crisis pregnancy in support of life. No woman should have to choose abortion because she is unaware of the help and resources that are available during and after an unplanned pregnancy. We are here to offer Help and Hope. We provide free pregnancy tests, a 24/7 phone helpline, and supply referral information for doctors, medical insurance, adoption, and parenting classes. We have resource information for housing, jobs, continuing education, legal assistance, and whatever else may be needed. We also pray for and with our Birthright moms; believing that with God, all things are possible.
One month before the baby is due or shortly after giving birth, Birthright provides this mom with blankets, bath supplies, diapers, and a complete baby’s first wardrobe. We encourage return visits for larger sized clothing; every three months for 0-24 months sizes and every six months for 2T – 4T sizes. Our services and supplies are always provided free of charge to the women, men and babies we serve.
Milwaukee Birthright is blessed with the addition of a new office volunteer, Monica P. We also have three volunteers registered for training. Additional volunteers are always welcome. Please consider joining our Birthright volunteer team and share the joy of helping others. Volunteer as little as four hours per month, in our office or taking calls on our helpline. Training is provided. Contact Judy at (414) 672-5433 or visit our web page at www.milwaukeebirthright.com for a volunteer application.
I am enclosing a “Save the Date” card with information about our 48th anniversary dinner and raffle. It will be held on Friday, November 15th at Davians in Menomonee Falls. Our featured speaker will be Peter Georgson, President and CEO of WELS Lutherans for Life in Milwaukee, WI. Peter will share his story of how God uses ordinary people to care for his own and be part of life-saving work. His example will help you see how God can or has used you, too.
Please consider a donation to Milwaukee Birthright with a one-time gift, monthly/ yearly giving support, or through your estate plans. We want to continue with our mission in support of life. Milwaukee Birthright, Inc. is a 501c3 charitable organization. Your gift is tax deductible.
Blessings to all,
Judy Fecteau, Executive Director
