August 2013
Special Event Notice:  Always a special time, Birthright's Annual Meeting and Auction will be held on Friday, November 8.  The Venice Club will provide a delicious dinner.  Welcoming begins at 6:00 with cocktails, dinner at 7:00 follows.

Author and prolife activist, Gail Greiner Sweet, founder of HOPE Network for Single Mothers, will describe how Birthright and HOPE complement each other and have supported each other and women in need for 33 years.

We continue to serve many women of all ages, the times never seem to get much better for some of them... until they come to Birthright.  From January through July about 275 women in crisis arrived in our office.  More calls were taken by our at-home Volunteers who provide office times or a listening ear.  The ads on city busses and our website ( are proven successful in bringing people to Birthright as well as references on Facebook.

Wheaton Franciscan provides office space.  We are so very grateful for this continuing kindness.  St. Francis Hospital continues to provide free pregnancy kits for our office use.  If the test is positive, we offer whatever is needed to protect the woman's health and the health of her unborn child.  Pro-life doctors are available to us.  Often, we are able to help set goals for the future that allows her to follow new path for a brighter tomorrow.

We still provide the beautifully crafted chosen layettes so that the babies now wear new, clean and warm clothing.  The outfits are so lovely; it's a pleasure to give them out to the thankful young mothers and their babies.

Our continuing gratitude is sent to our dear friends the Felician Sisters, and the Milwaukee Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (MACCW), Christ Child Society, Our Lady of Good Hope, Catholic Daughters of Lake Geneva, St. John Vianney Parish, St. Matthias, and gratefully to St. Eugene Congregation for our new computer and printer.  We also thank the many individual donors who share their love and finances with our needy moms and babes.

As we go forward into our 44th year with greater needs and services on the horizon we must once again urge you all to become Volunteers.  It's easy, just pick up the phone and call Veronica at 414 672-5433.  Training and materials are provided.  Hours are scheduled to suit your day or night -- either at home or in our office.  Please come and join our dedicated Volunteers!

With love and prayers,
